Clara Thaker and Faith Teekasingh have been selected in the England Women U19 squad, marking a proud moment for two players whose cricketing journeys began in Bedfordshire and Huntingdonshire.

The pair will take part in a five-match T20 series against India in November and December 2026, before the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Nepal and Bangladesh in January and February 2027. Their selection is a fantastic achievement and recognition of the dedication they have shown as their careers have developed.

Bedfordshire’s Clara first joined the county pathway aged nine, having started her club cricket at Dunstable Town Cricket Club. A right-arm seam bowler who can also contribute with the bat, she has progressed through the pathway into the Essex system and professional environment.

Faith came through Newborough Colts and the Huntingdonshire pathway. An opening batter who also bowls off-spin, she has continued her development within The Blaze Academy.

Both players represented the Bedfordshire & Huntingdonshire Women’s side in ECB Tier 3 cricket during the inaugural 2025 season, continuing their connection with the counties where they took their early steps in the game.

Behind their progress is a wider network of support. Their families, club coaches, county pathway coaches, team managers and volunteers have all played a part, alongside the regional and professional environments that have helped them take the next steps.

For Bedfordshire & Huntingdonshire Cricket, their success reinforces the importance of providing talented young cricketers with the environment, opportunities and support to fulfil their potential. Our county pathways may be relatively small, but Clara and Faith show what is possible as players progress through the game.
