Cricket East is now welcoming nominations for the 2026/27 County Talent Pathway Programme.
We are committed to identifying and supporting talented young cricketers across Bedfordshire and Huntingdonshire, helping players develop within a positive and challenging performance environment.
Talent Pathway Programme
Hotshots Programme
For boys and girls in School Years 5–7 from 1st September 2026
Our Hotshots Programme is designed to engage young players who show strong potential, enthusiasm, and a passion for cricket. The programme provides an exciting introduction to the talent pathway environment.
County Age Group Programme
For boys and girls in School Years 8–13 from 1st September 2026
The County Age Group Programme is for players who demonstrate the skills, attitude, and potential to develop within a high-performance cricket environment.

How to Nominate a Player
Parents, coaches, teachers, and volunteers are encouraged to nominate players who they believe would benefit from involvement in the Cricket East Talent Pathway. Please see our posters below to understand what skills and attributes we are looking for in players.

What Happens After Registration?
Following registration:
Parents and guardians will receive further information directly from Cricket East:
- County Age Group players may be invited into a multi-week observation process.
- Hotshots players will receive information about winter hub opportunities later in the year
Financial Support
Cricket East is committed to making the pathway accessible to all players.
For the 2026/27 season:
Players eligible for Free School Meals can access the pathway free of charge
Additional financial support and flexible payment options are available through the Talent Pathway Support Fund
