Cricket East Removes Barriers to Participation with Free Talent Pathway Access for Children on Free School Meals
Cricket East is proud to announce a significant step toward greater inclusivity in the game by making all Talent Pathway activity—including Hotshots, County Age Groups, and Development Hubs— free of charge for children eligible for free school meals.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to remove financial barriers that can prevent talented young players from progressing in cricket and is a key part of Cricket East’s ambition to build a more inclusive and accessible pathway. In doing so, Cricket East is supporting the ECB’s vision to make cricket the most inclusive team sport in the country.
“We believe that every child with a passion for cricket should have the opportunity to thrive” said Sam Rose, Head of Talent Pathway at Cricket East. “Removing the cost for those eligible for free school meals helps ensure that talent and love for the game—not finances—are what shape a young cricketer’s journey.”
Cricket East encourages schools, community groups, and families to spread the word about this initiative and help ensure that no aspiring young cricketer is left behind.
