A Celebration of Women & Girls’ Cricket
On Sunday 29th July, Cricket East proudly hosted the Beds & Hunts Women’s Showcase Game 2025 — a standout event in the women and girls’ cricket calendar, celebrating participation, progression, and the bright future of the game across the region.
Held at the fantastic Bedford Modern School, the day brought together a vibrant mix of grassroots and elite-level cricket. The event featured:
A Dynamos Girls Festival, showcasing young talent at the very start of their cricketing journey.
A County Age Group U15 Girls match, offering a glimpse at the next generation coming through the ranks.
The headline Women’s County match between Bedfordshire & Huntingdonshire and Dorset, played as part of the ECB’s new three-tier county structure.
This exciting new era in women’s cricket offers players across all levels a clearer pathway into the national game, and the Showcase Game was a fantastic opportunity to inspire young players by bringing the full spectrum of the female cricket journey to life — all in one place.
From the energy of the Dynamos to the competitive edge of the main women’s match, the day was a true celebration of how far women and girls’ cricket has come — and where it’s going next.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made the day possible:
To the players across all age groups for their commitment and sportsmanship.
To our spectators and supporters, whose enthusiasm brought energy to every innings.
To our officials, volunteers, and vendors, who helped keep everything running smoothly.
And to Bedford Modern School, for so generously hosting the day on their superb grounds.

We’re proud to be part of a growing movement to make cricket more inclusive, more exciting, and more accessible for women and girls at every level. If you left inspired and want to get involved — whether as a player, volunteer, or supporter — we’d love to hear from you.
Here's to many more days like this one.
