Job Opportunity: Talent Pathway Coaches – Cricket East
Cricket East is looking for enthusiastic and driven Talent Pathway Coaches to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in shaping the future of cricket in our region. This is an exciting opportunity to work across our Hotshots Early Engagement Programme and/or the County Age Group (CAG) pathway, supporting the development of young cricketers at various stages of their journey.

Location: Across Bedfordshire and Huntingdonshire (including away match days, out of County)
Contract Type: Casual – zero hours contract
Closing Date: 22nd August 2025
Start Date: Summer 2025 and/or Autumn/Winter Programme (September 2025 onwards)
Pay: Our rates of pay are as follows. (Hourly rates are inclusive of hourly accrued holiday pay)
Lead Coach £22.50 per hour
Assistant Coach £18.00 per hour
Match/Festival Days £110 flat rate, per day
(Hourly rates are fully inclusive of hourly accrued holiday pay)
Mileage expenses can be reimbursed at company rate of 0.36p a mile for away games but will NOT be reimbursed for travel to winter coaching or home games.
About the Roles
We are looking for coaches to work across:
Hotshots Programme (Early Engagement):
Introduce children (typically aged 10 to 12, school years 5 to 7) to the game through fun, engaging, and inclusive sessions that focus on developing a love for cricket while building fundamental movement skills.
County Age Group (CAG) Coaching:
Work with talented young players within the formal talent pathway structure, delivering high-quality coaching sessions and matchday support that foster technical, tactical, physical, and mental development.
Strength and Conditioning Coaching:
Qualified strength and conditioning coaches to support the athletic development of our players, and/or run workshops linked to the importance of S&C and general fitness across our Pathway Programmes.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking coaches who:
Are passionate about developing young people through cricket
Have experience working with children and/or youth in a cricket coaching environment
Understand player development and can create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Are flexible and reliable, with strong communication and organisation skills
Hold a minimum of a ECB Foundation I Coach or ECB Core Coach qualification (or equivalent, e.g. Level 2 Cricket Qualification (Essential) or an ECB Advanced Coach (formerly known as Level 3) (Desirable)
Coaches available to work during weeknights or weekends consistently from Mid-September 2025 through to April 2026
Additional attributes:
Current ECB DBS, First Aid, and Safeguarding qualifications (essential)
Previous experience in a talent pathway or performance environment (desirable)
A growth mindset and commitment to ongoing learning (desirable)
Ability to travel to various locations to deliver sessions and/or match days. Mileage expenses can be reimbursed at company rate of 0.36p a mile for away games but will NOT be reimbursed for travel to winter coaching or home games.
