Luton Ladies Cricket Team
The Luton Ladies Cricket team started through a Women's Softball Festival held in August 2018. Since then, the team have benefited from the Luton Core City Fund to be able to have indoor training, purchase hardball kit as well as team wear.
As of October 2019, the Ladies team are part of the Luton Town and Indians Cricket Club (LTICC).
From having 6 ladies in 2018, to a regular group of 20 ladies who play weekly, Luton now boasts a great ladies cricket team.
Having not had the opportunity to play in the Home Counties Women's Cricket League in 2020, the team stayed strong with regular training throughout the summer. with the team being integrated into LTICC, it has given the team the opportunity to play in the friendly games hosted by the club in 2020. This has really boosted the morale of the team and given them an oversight into real competition.
In creating the team, it was always the goal to have it merge with a club, and very successfully it has, as previously mentioned. This has now allowed the team to develop and evolve within the cricket community. The team is now managed by Meeta Patel and Meera Masters. Chantal Hardy will now oversee the girls development at the club.
Our ladies are at different skill levels, from beginner to ex-county player – therefore, we welcome all abilities. We accept ladies aged 14 and over – we have a real mix of ages – even the over 50s play! We play with a mixture of hard and soft balls, whichever you prefer to use.
